Drew and Emma are the founders of Rough Stock Rosin. Hailing from a picturesque farm in the heart of country Australia, their journey into the world of rodeo rosin is a natural extension of their expertise as rosin makers in the string instrument industry. Their principal business, Leatherwood Bespoke Rosin, was founded in 2014 and has been revolutionising the sounds of violins, cellos and other stringed instruments with their hand-crafted custom rosins.
With a deep-rooted commitment to enhancing performance, Drew and Emma have spent years perfecting the art of rosin making. They source a wide variety of ingredients from Australia and all around the world, making products that optimise performance through unique recipe variations. Their custom string rosins, tailored to the individual needs of musicians, have earned them a formidable reputation in the music industry.
Rough Stock Rosin is also a family-driven passion. A Passion inspired by life on their farm, the rugged beauty of the Australian bush, the spirit of the rodeo, and a horse-mad daughter with a dream to compete in her first rodeo!
Recognising the critical role of grip in rodeo events, they decided to apply their extensive research and development in rosin making to create products specifically designed for the intensity of bull and bronc riding.
Drew, a professional violinist (can't ride to save his life...) and Emma, an experienced horse rider (can't play the fiddle to save her life...) worked with a team of rodeo riders of all levels of experience to develop these unique rosin recipes.
Our humble workshop is set amongst the orchards and vineyards of central western NSW, with roos on the doorstep every morning - yes, that is a photo from our window! We work with a small team of artisans who test and profile ingredients every day, developing rosin products for various industries.
